Paintings and something more….
The Project paintings and a bit more…. Employs
photography to point out pictorial aspects developed
and applied to the facades of their houses by the inhabitants
of several cities; these aspects function as strategies
of appropriation in order to transform and improve their
immediate environment.
In Bogota, many people decided to paint the posts on
the sidewalks using the same colors as those on the
facades of their homes.
After the reunification, several inhabitants of Berlin,
painted the balconies of their apartments using bright
colours.
Around Christmas time, the inhabitants of the Modelia
neighborhood would often paint the curbs of the sidewalks
surrounding their houses with multiple color stripes.
Throughout the year, my neighbor paints the stones that
surround the plants of his garden in different colors.
The woman who lives on the corner decided to paint 7
street light posts with flashy colors.
Several neighbors got together and painted all the benches
in Oscar Park using their favorite colors.
