The work in El Basilisco is an intervention in the patio and workspace. In an attempt to pull in some specifics from the neighbourhood, I make constructions that refer to markets and working areas; situations of vulnerability and trust. They also expand the possibilities of the residency by creating places to sleep, have therapy, or submit oneself to treatment of some sort (performed by strangers). Meanwhile, in the street the homeless sleep with one eye open, as wary as street dogs, never fully trusting the trespassers that surround them. In this installation the space becomes a work in and of itself, like a still-life image that allows you to walk through it.
