El Basilisco was invited to participate in MDE07 - Encuentro Internacional Medellín 2007 | Prácticas artísticas contemporáneas, as part of the "Hospitality Spaces" section. Continuing in its habitual function, El Basilisco in turn invited artist Marco Bainella as a sattelite member, to explore registering his stay in Medellin in some way. This culminated in a show reflecting this process in Taller 7.
The proposal of extending the encounter to other places began to grow; as such El Basilisco invited Colombian artist Victor Muñoz to spend a month-long period of residency in Avellaneda, Bs. As., accompanied by Marco Bainella. They will jointly create a document that will summarize the different instances of this exchange. Victor Muñoz will return to Medellín in late June for a show at Taller 7 that will reflect the work developed in Avellaneda.

Victor Muñoz lives and works in Medellin. During 2007 he participated in MDE07 Practicas artísticas contemporáneas in the "urban residents" curatorial section, where he carried out the "Maestros de obra" project. He has also participated in group shows in the Banco de la República de Colombia, the Museo de Arte Moderno de Medellín, and the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo, among others. During 2005 he participated in UNIDEE, in the Città dell'arte-Fondazione Pistoletto in Italy, during which time he also completed several projects in public spaces in Turin and Milan. | |
