Fantasma
(of El Basilisco)
Entering a
new and unknown place for the first time is connected
with an extraordinary sharpening of the senses, where
whispers mutate into resounding laughter, although in
Argentina whispering is not a national habit.
Knowing that
I would stay for only two months at El Basilisco made
my preparations for the residency easier. It is certain
that in the rush to the airport in Berlin, I even forgot
my scissors, but I came with the well prepared personal
will to break my artistic habits and working procedures.
I decided to employ my stay as an open field for artistic
experimentation.
I wound up preparing two pieces of work, both growing
organically more visible day by day throughout my stay;
both pieces will likely wind up, as nature and instinct
predict, disappearing from the face of the earth…(though
the wall drawing will persist, covered by white paint
over the years, layer by layer).
Born November
17th 1970 in Novi Sad (former Yugoslavia), of German/Hungarian
nationality.
