Welcome to the webpage for the El Basilisco visual artists residencies program, a project coordinated by a group of artists looking to broaden possibilities for national, regional and international cultural exchange. This program brings artists from the interior of Argentina and from abroad together to participate in an intensive period of production in Avellaneda that includes a series of events to facilitate interaction with artist peers from the local scene, students and general public. The residency takes place in an old house in Avellaneda, ten minutes away from downtown Buenos Aires. Our e-mail address is inforesidencias@yahoo.com.ar. Our activities began in September, 2004 as part of a non-profit cultural program that is made possible due to the personal efforts of many artists and members of the cultural community along with essential support received from several institutions.
